Malappuram : Karipur International Airport has resumed the services of big Aircrafts. Saudi airlines from Jeddah landed in Karipur airport by 11.10 am this morning. The long wait of three and a half year has come to an end. Hajj air crafts will henceforth make its service available from Karipur.
The last big flight landed at Karipur was in the year 2015. Kozhikode Airport was partially shut down for the runway renovation three years back. Saudi Airlines, Emirates and Air India have stopped operations since 2015. The renovation was completed but safety checks on the runway delayed causing the delay in reestablishing the services of big flights.
Saudi Airlines will operate four flights per week to Jeddah and three to Riyadh.
The flight will operate on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays to Riyad and to Jeddah on the other days.
