Kochi : HC judges quit from the bench from considering the Piravam Chruch case. The judges explained that, the neutrality of judiciary must not be questioned in the future. Justice Devan Ramachandran, Justice P R Ramachandran who attend the hearing of the case have quit the bench.
Justice Devan Ramachandran has appeared for Jacobite Division when he was an advocate. Devan Ramachandran advocated for the case in relation to the church. A petition was filed pointing this. It was in this situation HC had made its move. The neutrality of judiciary must not be questioned.
The police quit from implementing the Supreme Court verdict at Piravam Church because of the protest from the believers. As per the Supreme Court verdict the rights for the Piravom church has been designated to the Orthodox fraction. The police broke the lock of the gate to the church. The action lead to strong protest following which the police force were withdrawn from the church. Jacobite believers including women were involved in stopping the police.
