Kochi: High Court has stated that the court cannot instruct school managements to grant permission to wear full- sleeve shirt and head scarf along with uniform. School’s smooth functioning is more important than individual interest,Justice A Mohammed Mushtaq told.
The court gave the order on a petition filed by two students of Christ Nagar School, Thiruvallam.
Religious matters come under relative right,but the school management has equal right to decide matters for the smooth functioning.
The management has the right to decide school’s dress code. The students can continue in the school if they are willing to obey school’s norms or else they should be given transfer certificate, the court ordered.
