Kochi: Communist killer gang leader and convict in T.P. Chandrasekharan murder case, Kodi Suni is reportedly enjoying the high life in Viyyur Jail with support from corrupt police officers. He is free to plan hits and manage his criminal activities from prison.
Reports say that though Kodi Suni is lodged in a cell big enough for five inmates, he is allowed to stay all by himself. He also enjoys special food and has access to mobile phones and recharging facilities provided by certain jail authorities. He is also said to be drawing a monthly salary of Rs. 4000 without doing any work.
Kodi Suni was arrested on Thursday for abducting a youth and stealing his expensive mobile phone. The youth was kidnapped from Kaithery and kept at a resort in Wayanad. The whole operation was in retaliation to a gold smuggling deal gone sour.
Surprisingly, the hardcore criminal was out on bail on humanitarian grounds.
Kodi Suni, a hitman, and seasoned criminal is one among those who planned and executed the brutal killing of T.P. Chandrasekharan in 2012.
T.P. Chandrasekharan had left the communist party to form a rival party called the Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP) following major differences with the Communist Party. RMP was successful and swiftly gained ground in and around Onchiyam, winning the local Panchayath election.
This infuriated the CPI(M) who hired Kodi Suni to execute T.P. Chandrasekharan. He along with six other men ambushed Chandrasekharan while the latter was traveling on a motorcycle. When he fell from his bike, the killer gang hacked him to death, repeatedly slashing at his face.
