Sannidhanam: The doors of Sabarimala temple is closed after completing Kumbha Masa Poojas. Head Priest Vasudevan Namboothiri completed the rituals,Harivarasanam is heard, and Lord Ayyappa is made at his ‘Yoga nidra’.
As during the season of Mandala pooja, these five days of Kumbha masa pooja time too seen a decline in the number of pilgrims.Temple opening days passed with the same tension of breach of rituals.
Though the rush was less, police control remained strong as in the last season. Police demanded to impose prohibitory orders at Sannidhanam,Pampa, Nilakkal and Ilavungal during Kumbha Masa Poojas but it was not announced anyway. Some women of menstrual age from neighbouring states had tried to visit the temple but devotees convinced and made them return.
The doors of the holy shrine will be opened in March for Sabarimala festivals.
