Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala police have revealed that SDPI workers are providing protection for Imam Shafeeq Al Qasimi who is charged with molesting an underage girl.
Police report that they have received evidence that SDPI workers from Tholicode were providing a safe haven for the accused Imam.
The investigation team suspects that the Imam might be hiding in Ernakulam or in any adjacent districts. The police have decided to file a case against those SDPI workers who have helped the Imam to escape police capture.
Moreover, the police will arrest the Imam’s brother Al Ameen for misguiding the police investigation by saying that the Imam has left for Bengaluru.
