Kozhikode: The State Government has a new move up their sleeves to increase participation in their 1000-days-in-office celebrations.
In a move that could mean skipping a day’s class, the Deputy Director of Education has issued a circular demanding that all students and teachers in Kozhikode city must take part in the procession to celebrate the State Government’s 1000 days in office. The Chief Minister will be attending the program on that day.
The circular, which was sent to every school in the city on 12th February, made it mandatory that all students and teachers attend the function without fail.
The circular has also asked the school authorities to present tableaus and other cultural programs for the procession.
Already there is widespread criticism against the circular which will result in teachers and students losing one working day. In addition, the school management must provide to and fro transportation to every student to the procession site and back home.
