A group of students from Kerala were admired for the project they presented at the exhibition organized by NITI Aayog as part of the National Technology Week 2023. The students Madhumati Anand, M Harinarayanan, and S Thejus, studying at Amrita Vidyala at Kollam, had developed a project to deliver medicines using drones.

The project was developed by the students through the Atal tinkering lab with the support of their teacher Gayathri. Amrita Vidyala was the sole school selected by the Atal Innovation Mission.

They developed a system with which medicines and other supplies can be delivered to people trapped in disasters like floods, where rescue teams cannot reach. A drone that can carry up to 1.5 kg was developed for this purpose.

They also developed a package made of bamboo, jute, and coir, to carry the medicines. The package could safely be dropped down by the drone from a height of 75 meters.
