Thiruvananthapuram: The Neyyattinkara Additional Sessions Court gave permission to the prosecution to cross examine Sharon murder case accused Greeshma in custody. The permission was given after considering the plea filed by Thiruvananthapuram Crime Branch Deputy Superintendent Rasith.
The Court said that if the accused is granted bail, she will influence the witness and it will affect the trial. The Court also pointed out that circumstantial evidence may be lost if there is a delay.
Special Public Prosecutor V S Vineeth Kumar said that it is dangerous if Greeshma, who has suicidal tendencies, is released on bail. The Court granted custodial trial by accepting his arguments. Although a bail application was filed for Greeshma, the defendant withdrew the bail plea unexpectedly. However, the court accepted the defence’s argument that it should be allowed to file a bail plea again after the custody trial plea is settled.
