Kozhikode: A five-member gang assaulted a newlywed couple in Iringadanpally on Sunday night. The husband, Ashwin, said that he and his wife were on the way home after watching a movie at Regal Theatre. When they were near the Christian College signal, five men arrived on two bikes and eve-teased his wife. When Ashwin questioned this, the men attacked him.
Immediately after the incident, the couple filed a complaint at the Nadakkavu police station and police control room. On the basis of the complaint, the police started investigation by inspecting vehicles’ registration numbers and CCTV visuals from the area. Around 14 vehicles that passed through the area at that time are under police surveillance.
According to media reports, four people involved in the attack were taken into custody, and police also seized a two-wheeler from them.
