Kochi: In a significant development, the High Court of Kerala has allowed a woman judge to hear the case against film-star Dilip, accused in the kidnap and molestation of a leading actress.
The High Court Single Bench’s order follows after the victim appealed to the court requesting that a woman judge hear the case which had shook the film industry and sparked debates about the safety of women in the entertainment industry.
The Court directed Justice Honey Varghese of Ernakulam Special C.B.I. Court to hear the case and ordered that proceedings be over within 9 months.
The Government informed the Court that Dilip is trying to delay the court proceedings.
