Kozhikode: In a highly distressing incident, a college student who had been reported missing was discovered in a state of sedation, having endured sexual assault, and abandoned on the side of Thamarassery Churam. The Thamarassery police have identified the perpetrator and are in the process of making an arrest.
According to sources, the 19-year-old undergraduate student at a private college was reported missing on Tuesday. On Thursday, she was discovered by a police unit patrolling one of the hairpin turns. Prompt action was taken, and she was immediately transported to Thamarassery Taluk Hospital for medical attention. The medical reports confirmed that she had been subjected to sexual assault and had been drugged.
According to the survivor’s statement, she was drugged by a Wayanad resident before being transferred to Ernakulam and Wayanad to be raped. Authorities are actively seeking the arrest of the accused, and further investigations are underway. Further information suggest that the accused is a distributor of MDMA in the region.
