Kozhikode: The State Higher Secondary SAY (Save A Year) and improvement examination deadline has been shortened to four days without penalty and the fine has been increased which caused troubles to students.
The plus two exam result was released on May 25. The date of payment of SAY exam without penalty was till May 29. One of those days was Sunday, which was a holiday. As a result the students were given only three days to pay the exam fee. After that the applications were accepted with Rs.600 for the remaining two days.
Students said that they were given more time to pay in previous years. There is an allegation that there was a phase of fine of Rs.20, but this time they directly entered into superfine. Moreover those who were not currently at their place and those who have traveled to other places didn’t get an opportunity to apply on time. There was also a situation where the school authorities and parents got into a dispute over this.
