Thiruvananthapuram: Following the case of impersonation involving an SFI leader during the University Union Councilor election, the university syndicate meeting has decided to impose a fine on Kattakada Christian College. The college will be charged a penalty of Rs. 1,55,938. The Kerala University election had to be postponed due to the uproar caused by the incident in Kattakada. The university will be recovering the amount incurred through this penalty.
In a separate inspection conducted by the university, it was discovered that 36 councilors from various colleges exceeded the prescribed age limit. The syndicate informed that they have been disqualified and removed from the voter list. Additionally, more than 30 colleges failed to inform the university regarding the election details. These colleges have been instructed to provide information regarding the conduct of elections in accordance with the rules.
