Love jihad again reported in Kerala. According to news sources, the father of a Christian woman hailing from Tiruvalla has approached the High Court after alleging that his daughter was forcibly converted to Islam. The father has filed a habeas corpus petition, seeking the court’s intervention in what he perceives as abduction and forced religious conversion.

The 22-year-old woman, who had been pursuing her studies in Chennai while residing in a hostel. The parents were not able to contact her over mobile phone since this 8th of this month. Further, when enquired, the hostel authorities revealed that a young man took her.

Further evidence supporting the father’s claims includes voice messages and phone calls originating from Fahad, a native of Kannur, against whom a complaint has been filed. The distraught father promptly reported the matter to the Pattanamthitta Police chief, but he expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of substantial progress made by the police in the case. Consequently, he decided to seek legal recourse by approaching the High Court.

According to reports, the woman is believed to be confined to Fahad’s residence in Mattannur, Kannur, under house arrest. The seriousness of the allegations has raised concerns within the community and drawn attention to the sensitive issue of forced conversions.

As the legal proceedings unfold, it is crucial to ensure a fair and impartial investigation into the matter. The High Court’s involvement brings hope for a thorough examination of the allegations and the well-being of the woman in question.
