Former SFI leader, K Vidya, was arrested on Wednesday evening, two weeks after being implicated in a forgery case. She was taken into custody for allegedly presenting a fake experience certificate from Maharajas College in order to secure a guest lecturer position at Attapadi Government College, a claim she vehemently denied.
Vidya claimed that she never submitted any fake certificate at the Attapadi Government College, speculating that the certificate might have been handed over to the principal by someone else. Vidya further raised suspicions against the principal, suggesting a potential conspiracy aimed at damaging her image and that of the SFI. She also alleged that certain faculty members of the Maharaja’s College were involved in the conspiracy.
Vidya provided a statement to the police, urging them to interrogate the principal of Attapadi Government College, as she believed it would unveil the truth behind the conspiracy. Furthermore, she asserted that she had never submitted any fake documents at Karinthalam College.
Addressing the issue of her non-appearance before the investigation team, Vidya explained that she would have willingly cooperated if she had received the notice. However, she was not in a good condition to speak over the phone, resulting in her decision to turn off her mobile phone. Vidya also expressed concern over the media’s intrusive attention, which had isolated her family. She noted that only her SFI friends provided support and stood by her during that period.
