In a significant lead, Nikhil Thomas, a Student Federation of India (SFI) leader from Kayamkulam, has been arrested by the police at Kottayam bus stand. The arrest is linked to allegations of Nikhil’s involvement in submitting a forged degree certificate to secure admission into the M.Com program at Milad-E-Sherief Memorial (MSM) College.
According to sources, Nikhil Thomas has handed over vital information regarding the fake degree certificate. Nikhil disclosed that Abin C Raju, a former SFI leader was the mastermind behind the creation of fake certificate. Abin C Raju currently living in Maldives.
Investigations have revealed that an international manpower recruitment agency in Kochi was involved in preparing the fake degree certificate. It was Abin C Raju who introduced Nikhil to this agency. In his statement to the police, Nikhil admitted to spending Rs 2 lakh to acquire the fake certificate.
During the interrogation, Nikhil Thomas informed the authorities that he had intended to surrender at the Kottarakkara police station. He further confessed to having exhausted all the money he possessed. Additionally, Nikhil disclosed that he disposed of his mobile phone by discarding it into a nearby drain.
The latest developments have heightened the controversy surrounding Nikhil Thomas, shedding light on the participation of other SFI leaders in the creation of fake certificates.
