Haripad: Students who were unable to secure admission in Plus One courses during the initial rounds now have a second chance, as the applications for the Plus One supplementary allotments have opened. The application window will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting Wednesday. This opportunity is not only for those who haven’t applied previously but also for those who applied earlier but didn’t receive allotments.
Approximately 18,005 merit seats are available for the second supplementary allotment. These seats include vacancies left after the first supplementary allotment, unoccupied seats from the sports quota, and seats from the community quota. This presents an excellent opportunity for students to secure admissions in reputed Government and Aided schools.
However, certain conditions apply to eligibility for the second supplementary allotment. Students who have already joined a school under any quota, those who were allotted seats but didn’t take admission, or those who took a transfer certificate (TC) after joining a school are not allowed to apply at this stage.
Candidates who were denied admission earlier due to discrepancies in their application can also apply again, provided they have corrected the mistakes in their application.
To make the process transparent and accessible, the details of vacant merit seats in Government and Aided schools will be published on the Higher Secondary Department portal. This information is crucial for students to make informed decisions while posting their options.
It’s essential to note that options can only be given to schools with vacant seats. Any applications for a change in school and/or subjects will be considered only after the completion of the admission process for the second supplementary allotment.
Additionally, for students seeking admissions in vocational courses, the VHSE (Vocational Higher Secondary Education) second supplementary allotment applications have also commenced. The application window for VHSE will remain open until 5 p.m. on Thursday.
The second supplementary allotment offers a golden opportunity for students who initially secured admission based on merit to switch to a different school or stream, depending on their preferences and the availability of vacant seats.
