THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Today, Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in Kerala have issued an orange alert for four districts and a yellow alert for eight districts as the monsoon season intensifies. The districts under the orange alert are Kozhikode, Kannur, Wayanad, and Kasaragod, while the ones under the yellow alert are Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, and Malappuram.
Concerns over the severe weather conditions have prompted the Meteorological Department to issue a warning to fishermen, advising them to refrain from venturing into the sea.
As a precautionary measure, holiday declarations have been made for schools in Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, and Kannur districts. However, it’s important to note that there is no change in the schedule of the PSC examinations and Kannur University examinations.
