Kollam: In a disturbing incident that unfolded today at approximately 1:30 pm in Pathanampuram, Kollam, a husband has been apprehended by authorities for attempting to fatally harm his wife. The victim, identified as Revathi and hailing from Kattassery, was subjected to a harrowing attack by her husband, who inflicted knife wounds to her neck and chest. Shockingly, this violent act occurred in plain view, right in front of the Pathanapuram KSEB office.
The severity of the attack left Revathi gravely injured, prompting her immediate admission to a private hospital for urgent medical intervention. Prompt action by local residents resulted in the apprehension of the perpetrator, Ganesh, who was taken into custody by the concerned individuals before being handed over to the Pathanapuram police.
It has come to light that the relationship between Revathi and Ganesh has been strained for a significant period of time, leading to a state of estrangement between the two. Despite this, they had entered into marital vows just nine months prior to this shocking incident.
A pertinent detail in this case is that Ganesh lodged a complaint earlier, reporting his wife Revathi as missing. As a result of this complaint, both individuals were summoned to the Pathanapuram police station for questioning earlier today. Tragically, it was during their return from the police station that Ganesh turned aggressive, attempting to take his wife’s life by slashing her throat.
