KSRTC employees’ salary crisis looms as Onam nears; Strike threat intensifies

Thiruvananthapuram: With the festive season of Onam just around the corner, the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is grappling with a severe crisis that has left its employees unpaid. As two successive installments of salaries, including the July payment, remain pending, employees have issued a stern warning of a potential strike if their concerns are not addressed promptly.

Amid mounting frustration, a faction of KSRTC employees has taken a decisive step by declaring a strike scheduled for August 26. The strike aims to spotlight the critical issue of non-payment of salaries and demand swift action from the concerned authorities.

In response to the brewing crisis, a high-level discussion has been scheduled for today at 3 p.m. Transport Minister Antony Raju, Finance Minister KN Balagopal, and Labour Minister V Sivankutty are set to engage in talks with the recognised employee unions.
