Kannur : In a startling incident today, a father was violently attacked in Kannur’s Peringoth area for disagreeing with his daughter’s marriage proposal. The assault occurred in the presence of his wife. The victim, identified as Rajesh from Irikkur, Mamanam is currently in a critical condition, undergoing urgent medical treatment at Pariyaram Medical College.
The incident unfolded at approximately 2 a.m. when the assailant, identified as Akshay, forcefully gained entry into Rajesh’s house. Akshay is currently under police custody. The authorities had intensified the search for suspect since today morning. The Kannur City Police took the accused into custody and subsequently transferred him to the Peringome Police.
