Thiruvananthapuram: The hallowed Padmanabhaswamy Temple, renowned for its opulence and historical significance, has added a gleaming new dimension to its offerings with the release of intricately designed gold coins adorned with the image of Lord Padmanabhan. The gold coin was unveiled in a solemn ceremony held in the temple’s eastern courtyard.
The ceremonious event witnessed the presence of distinguished temple authorities including, temple’s Executive Officer B. Mahesh, who released the gold coin. The first recipient of this precious token was Aditya Varma, a member of the temple’s governing body. The function was also graced by Temple Manager B. Sreekumar, Audit and Finance Officer Venkita Subramaniam, and temple Sreekaryam , Anantharaman.
Devotees will have the privilege of obtaining minted gold coins in varying weights like one,two ,four ,and eight grams. These meticulously crafted coins are forged from the very gold ornaments that have adorned the temple’s sanctum for generations.
Officials, however, emphasise that the availability of these exceptional coins will be limited, making them a cherished possession for those fortunate enough to acquire them. The cost of these tokens is contingent on the prevailing daily market price of gold, ensuring a fair and transparent exchange for devotees and enthusiasts alike.
To secure these special coins, individuals will need to approach the temple’s designated counters for the purchase. The procedure will encompass payment through the temple counters, ensuring a seamless and authenticated process.
