Kannur: A former sub-registrar, KM Raghu Ladharan, has been fined Rs. 20,000 and sentenced to one year of rigorous imprisonment in a bribery case. The Thalassery Vigilance Court imposed this sentence and fine. He was found guilty of accepting a bribe of Rs. 1,000.
The incident took place on November 1, 2011. At that time, Raghu Ladharan, who held the position of sub-registrar, was involved in accepting the bribe. The bribe was accepted to facilitate the alteration and registration of the property from the complainant’s father’s name to the complainant’s name, in accordance with the will. In this case, the court handed down a prison sentence and imposed a fine.
