Kollam: In a significant crackdown on illegal drug activities, a young man was apprehended by the police with a haul of 11 kg of ganja that was being smuggled from Bengaluru to Thiruvananthapuram. The arrest took place in Kollam, marking a successful operation to curb the trafficking of narcotics.
The individual in question, identified as Nixon Xavier, a resident of Thiruvananthapuram, was arrested for his alleged involvement in the smuggling attempt. Acting on a tip-off, law enforcement officials swooped in on the suspect and confiscated the contraband, which was meticulously concealed in a bag.
The seized ganja was reportedly intended to be distributed and retailed within Thiruvananthapuram. The suspect’s modus operandi involved transporting the illicit substance from Bengaluru to Kerala via a bus, likely in an attempt to evade detection.
The vigilant efforts of the police led to the timely intervention and arrest of Nixon Xavier, effectively thwarting the illegal drug trade operation. The suspect was promptly produced before the court and remanded.
