Kochi: A horrifying road accident unfolded in the early hours of the morning in Kochi, resulting in the tragic loss of two lives. The incident occurred in front of Camco and Athani.
The victims, identified as Maryam and Sheeba, were employees of Camco. Their lives were abruptly cut short as they attempted to cross the road. Tragically, they were struck by a speeding pickup van, leading to fatal injuries.
The van, bearing Tamil Nadu registration, collided with the two employees and hurled them several feet upon impact. Local authorities swiftly responded to the scene, and the driver of the vehicle, identified as Velu, was taken into custody by the police.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the cause of the accident was attributed to the driver falling asleep while operating the vehicle, resulting in the tragic collision. This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by drowsy driving.
Following the accident, the bodies of Maryam and Sheeba were promptly transported to the Medical College Hospital, where formalities and further investigations will be conducted.
