Palakkad: Mudalamada Sunildas, commonly known as “Sunil Swami,” is the primary link in a foreign inter-state fraud gang operating in Kerala. He committed a fraud of Rs 157 crore by falsely associating himself with the title of Raajguru from the Mysore Royal Palace. From common citizens to community cultural political leaders, people’s representatives, lawyers, and law enforcers are the victims of this scam.

The gang’s activities, which came to light, involved extorting substantial sums of money from the temple authority of Palakkad temple. They attracted victims with promises of overseas employment in exchange for paying Rs. 10 lakh. Sunildas was motivated to engage in fraudulent activities for several decades, expanding his operations across state boundaries and even international borders. This was made possible due to influential individuals falling for his schemes but hesitating to report their experiences due to fears of damaging their reputation.

At the same time, the victims of the scam, under the guidance of the Palakkad temple authority, personally lodged a complaint with the Union Home Ministry and the Interstate Police Chiefs. In the complaint, they asked the people to be vigilant
