Malappuram: The accused, who fled after being sentenced in a molestation case, has been arrested. After evading authorities for 18 years, the accused was apprehended. A team led by Toll Inspector Manoj Pariyata arrested the accused in Mysore.
Authorities arrested a 50-year-old man named Mehubub from Loknayak Nagar in Mysore. He was married to a woman from Marutha. She lodged a formal complaint against him for torture. Consequently, he was issued a summons to appear before the court. However, he did not appear in court. The Nilambur Magistrate Court subsequently sentenced him to six months’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5,000. Following that, the accused man fled.
The accused was presented in the Nilambur court, and after the court appearance, he was transferred to Tavanur jail.The accused was apprehended by an investigation team comprising Ratheesh, Alex Kaipini, and Vineesh.
