Palakkad: Vijayakrishnan, a resident of Palakkad, finds himself entangled in a distressing situation following a car accident, as a wound certificate issued by a doctor indicates alcohol consumption. Despite having no history of alcohol consumption, Vijayakrishnan’s worries extend to concerns about potential implications for his insurance claims and other benefits.
The incident dates back to April 2022, when Vijayakrishnan’s truck collided with a crane, resulting in his swift admission to the Palakkad District Hospital for immediate medical attention. Subsequently, the doctor attending to him recommended his transfer to Thrissur Medical College for further treatment. However, an unexpected twist occurred when the wound certificate provided to the police by the district hospital mentioned the presence of an alcohol odour on Vijayakrishnan at the time of the accident.
The ordeal came to light months later when Vijayakrishnan sought to initiate insurance claims stemming from the accident. To his astonishment, he discovered the allegation of alcohol involvement on the wound certificate, despite never having consumed alcohol. Notably, the information contained within the wound certificate stands in stark contrast to the records presented when he was referred to Thrissur Medical College for treatment.
