Kannur: A person has been apprehended in connection with the stone-pelting incident on the Vande Bharat Express in Mahi. The individual, hailing from Kondoti in Malappuram, is presently in the custody of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and is undergoing interrogation. Last week, during a stone-pelting incident between Thalassery and Mahi, the windows of Vande Bharat’s C-8 coach were shattered. The train was targeted while traveling from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram, with passengers reporting being struck by stone particles.
A recent report revealed that Kerala has the highest number of train attacks in the country. This information is highlighted in the report provided by the Railway Protection Force to the Central Intelligence Agency, pointing out the security concern. The recurrent train attacks appear to validate the RPF’s reports.
