Ernakulam: Wonderla in Kochi, a premier amusement park in the heart of Kerala, has once again etched its name in the annals of record-breaking achievements with the creation of the world’s tallest rope-built maveli, standing at an impressive height of 15 feet. The awe-inspiring installation was unveiled as a highlight of the park’s grand Onam celebrations, embodying the spirit of the mythical king Mahabali.
In a momentous ceremony attended by distinguished guests, including Wonderla Park Head MA Ravikumar, COIRFED Vice President R Suresh, and Tourism Department Joint Director Shahul Hameed, the colossal Maveli was inaugurated amid much excitement and anticipation. The towering figure, crafted meticulously by a dedicated six-member team over a span of just 14 days, already holds the esteemed Best of India record.
What makes this feat even more remarkable is the intricate construction process. The statue’s framework was primarily fashioned from iron pipes and rods, ensuring structural integrity while adhering to safety standards. However, a true testament to eco-friendliness, the Maveli itself is composed of astounding 95 percent rope products, showcasing Wonderla’s commitment to sustainable practices.
