Thiruvananthapuram: A fire broke out at Nemam Victory Boys Higher Secondary School last evening around 3:30 p.m., triggering a swift response from local authorities. The incident was promptly reported by vigilant locals who spotted flames engulfing the fourth floor of the school building. Subsequently, local residents alerted both the fire brigade and the police.
The fire reportedly originated in a storage area on the fourth floor of the school building, where bundles of paper and wood were stored, including children’s assignments. This location was situated near the stairwell, potentially posing a risk for the fire to spread rapidly. However, the vigilance of the locals and the rapid response of emergency services prevented the fire from causing extensive damage.
A team of dedicated firefighters led by Station Officer Ramamurthy, Anish Kumar, Grade Assistant Station Officer Jayakumar, Fire and Rescue Officer Anu, Saneesh Kumar, Vivek, Bijin, Anish Kumar, Sajan, Ratheesh Kumar, Sivakumar, and Home Guard Rajasekaran worked collectively to extinguish the fire.
