Palakkad: In a sombre turn of events, the remains of a two-month-old corpse were located in the vicinity of Meenkara Dam. Positioned on the eastern side of the dam, the discovery pertained to a 35-year-old individual. Local residents chanced upon the body during the course of yesterday’s evening.
The deceased body was discovered dangling from a tree by a shirt. Preliminary assessments suggest that the body is approximately a month and a half old, having undergone significant decomposition. In response to the scenario, Kollengode police officers responded on the site to perform an initial investigation, which was supplemented by the presence of forensic specialists who conducted an assessment. Subsequently, the body was transferred to the Palakkad district hospital for a post-mortem analysis.
