Ernakulam: An inquiry has been initiated concerning the individual accused in the incident involving the discovery of cannabis (ganja) on the Lokmanya Tilak-Thiruvananthapuram Netravati Express train at Aluva railway station. A total of 4.5 kg of ganja was seized from the train’s general compartment.
Cannabis was found as a result of a search carried out by the Excise team based on a tip-off. As of now, the individual responsible has evaded capture in connection with the incident. Primary assessments suggest that the accused might have fled through an alternate exit after receiving information about the arrival of excise authorities on the train.
The incident took place on Saturday around 2 pm. The team conducted a search within the train’s general compartment upon its arrival at platform number one. It was within this compartment that cannabis was discovered, concealed beneath a seat.
