Idukki: A devastating incident unfolded in Rajakkad Kulatakuzhi, Idukki, as an ambulance accident tragically claimed the life of Annamma Patros, an 80-year-old woman who was en route to her home after being discharged from Kottayam Medical College. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning.
Annamma Patros, who had been receiving medical treatment at Kottayam Medical College for a few days, was on the road to recovery. With the expectation of returning to her home, she embarked on a journey that took a tragic turn.
Around 4:30 am, the ambulance transporting Annamma went out of control while navigating a bend on its way uphill from Kulatakuzhi. The vehicle veered off the road, ultimately plunging into a nearby stream.
Despite the swift response of rescue teams, Annamma was transferred to a private hospital in Rajakkad, where medical personnel worked tirelessly to save her life.
