Idukki: India’s longest glass bridge will be opened for tourists at Vagamon tomorrow. It was built at a cost of Rs.3 crores by the District Tourism Promotion Council in collaboration with private players. The forty meters long glass bridge will be inaugurated tomorrow at 5 pm by Tourism Minister, Muhammed Riyas.

The Adventure Park at Vagamon has prepared a one-of-a-kind thrilling experience for both children and the elderly. The glass bridge was made possible by DTPC and Bharatmatha Ventures. For the construction of the glass bridge, specially made glass was imported from Germany. In addition, 35 tons of steel was required to build the 120 feet long bridge.

Fifteen people can get on the glass bridge at a time. The fee is Rs.500 per person. Once we get on the glass bridge, situated at a height of 3,500 feet above sea level, we can see Mundakayam, Koottickal, Kokayar regions. It is expected that the glass bridge will boost the tourism in Idukki and Vagamon.
