Thiruvananthapuram: Rain will continue in the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert in six districts due to the possibility of heavy rains. Yellow alert has been declared for Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam and Thrissur districts. There is yellow alert warning for 5 districts tomorrow also.
The cyclonic circulation initially located over the Northeast Bay of Bengal has now intensified and transformed into a low-pressure system. Currently, this low-pressure area is situated over the West Bay of Bengal near South Odisha and the North coast of Andhra Pradesh, and it is expected to gain strength in the hours ahead.
As a result, the IMD has advised that Kerala may experience continuous rainfall for the next five days. Furthermore, heavy rain is anticipated at isolated locations from today until September 9th.
