THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala has once again become the venue for Maldives’ presidential election, with polling taking place at the Maldives Consulate in Kumarapuram, Thiruvananthapuram.
Voting is also being conducted in overseas locations with significant Maldivian populations, including Thiruvananthapuram in the southern Indian state of Kerala, as well as in the capitals of Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Britain, and the United Arab Emirates.
Polling commenced at 8:30 am today and will conclude at 4:30 pm. More than two hundred and eighty thousand voters from various island groups in the Maldives are eligible to cast their votes today. Election officials anticipate announcing the results late on Sunday.
