Chennai: In a remarkable journey that has captured the attention of both wildlife enthusiasts and the public alike, Arikomban, the elephant that ventured far from its natural habitat, Chinnakanal, has made its way back into an inhabited area near Manjolai estate in Tamil Nadu. The arrival of Arikomban has drawn a crowd of approximately 2000 workers.

According to the Tamil Nadu Forest Department, Arikomban has traversed an impressive distance of approximately 25 kilometers. The awe-inspiring journey has been marked by steady progress, with reports suggesting that the elephant covered an astonishing 10 kilometers in a single night.

Presently, Arikomban has found a temporary residence in Kothirapatti, an area recognised as a protected forest zone by the Tamil Nadu Forest Department. However, despite its proximity to the Kerala border, officials have confirmed that there is no likelihood of Arikomban returning to Kerala.

The Tamil Nadu Forest Department has clarified that the rugged and steep terrain along the path to Kerala makes it virtually impossible for Arikomban to retrace its steps back into Kerala.
