THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Greeshma, the accused in the Parassala Sharon murder case, has been granted bail by the Kerala High Court on condition. Greeshma had been arrested on October 31 of the previous year. The court had previously granted bail to Greeshma’s mother and uncle, who are co-accused in the same case.
The incident took place on October 14 last year at her residence in Palukal, Tamil Nadu.
The accused allegedly mixed poison into kashayam (an Ayurvedic concoction) that she gave to Sharon. Subsequently, Sharon experienced physical discomfort and was admitted to the hospital. Despite several days of treatment, Sharon succumbed to death on October 25.
The primary investigation conducted by the Parassala police had reported that it was a natural death. However, Greeshma’s involvement became evident during subsequent investigations.
During the investigation, Greeshma admitted to the police that she had given poison because Sharon was not ready to withdraw from the relationship.
The police also found Greeshma’s mother, Sindhu, and uncle, Nirmala Kumaran, guilty in this case. They were both charged with ‘destruction of evidence to prevent its use in the investigation’ of the crime.
