ISRO hosts inter-school painting competition for ‘World Space Week Celebrations 2023’ in Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In celebration of ‘World Space Week 2023,’ the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Thiruvananthapuram is organizing a painting competition for school students in Kerala.

ISRO has reported that, as part of World Space Week, an interschool painting competition will take place for students in Kerala on Sunday, October 8, 2023.

The “All Kerala Interschool Painting Competition 2023” will be held on October 8th in four different zones across Kerala, including Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulum, Thrissur, and Kannur. The competition will be hosted at the following venues:

Thiruvananthapuram: Cotton Hill Girls Higher Secondary School, Vazhuthacaud

Ernakulum: Saraswathi Vidyaniketan Public School, Elamakkara

Thrissur: St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur 680001, Kerala

Kannur: Chovva Higher Secondary School

ISRO has specified that the broad theme for the competition is ‘Space & Space Technology.’ Participants are required to create their paintings in alignment with this specific theme, which will be disclosed on the day of the event.

The competition will have four categories: Lower Primary, Upper Primary, High School, and Higher Secondary School. Participants may use watercolors, acrylics, or crayons for their paintings, but pencil sketching is not allowed.

The last date for registration is October 5, 2023.
