KOZHIKODE: A group of individuals robbed a doctor at a lodge in Kozhikode on Monday by holding a knife to his neck.
The doctor was staying at a lodge near Kozhikode railway station when the group, who were under the influence of drugs, robbed him. They compelled him to transfer Rs 2,500 via G-pay since he had no cash on hand.
The group, which included a girl, was subsequently arrested by the police for their involvement in the incident.
The town police and the District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF) team arrested Manikkathazhe Anu Krishna (24) from Paroppadi, along with her friend EK Mohammed Anas Kallani Mattummal from Pannikkottoor, Elettil Vattoli, and Nadukkantiyil Shijin Das NP (27) from Kunnamangalam. Anas and Anu had been together for the past 6 months and had planned to leave for Delhi to evade arrest, as per the police’s statement. The police also seized a sword, their motorbikes, and mobile phones.
According to the police, the suspects were drug addicts who needed money to purchase drugs.
The group had encountered the doctor at the lodge on Sunday night, gathered information about him, and then attacked him on Monday. The investigation was led by Kozhikode District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Force (DANSAF) Sub-Inspector Manoj Edayedath, along with Sub-Inspectors Siyad and Anil Kumar.
