Thiruvananthapuram: A Class IX student had a narrow escape from an accident when she fell from a moving KSRTC bus after its door unexpectedly opened. The incident occurred around 4 o’clock in the evening as Fathima, a student at LVHS Pothencode, was returning home from school in Mohanapuram.
The incident unfolded when the bus came to a halt at Vavarambalam to pick up a passenger. Unfortunately, as the bus resumed its journey, the door unexpectedly swung open, leading to Fathima losing her balance and falling onto the road. Fathima managed to avoid a collision with the bus’s rear wheels by getting up promptly after the fall.
A scooter rider, who happened to witness the incident, rushed to her aid. The immediate assistance from the bystander contributed to ensuring the safety of Fathima. The injuries sustained by the child are minor and not of a serious nature.
