THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: On October 7th, a river cleaning drive is scheduled to take place at Aranmula Sathra-kadavu along the Pamba River.
G Asok Kumar IAS, General Director of the Namami Gange Programme (National Mission for Clean Ganga), Senior Scientist Dr. Hussain from the Wildlife Institute of India, and BJP senior leader Kummanam Rajasekharan will participate in the cleaning program.
The event is being organized in collaboration with the National River Conservation Directorate (Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources), the Wildlife Institute of India, Aranmula Heritage Trust, Aranmula Palliyoda Seva Sangham, and Sree Vijayananda Vidya Peedom, Aranmula.
Following the ongoing success of the National River Conservation Plan’s (NRCP) Ganga project, seven more rivers in the country have been included in the initiative: Narmada, Godavari, Mahanadi, Barak, Periyar, Kaveri (also known as Cauvery), and Pamba.
