THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In light of recent price hikes, there has been a slight decline in gold prices.
From yesterday’s price, the 22-carat gold declined by Rs 240 per sovereign.
Today, the market price for 22-carat gold is Rs 5,510 per gram, and for 1 sovereign, it stands at Rs 44,080 in Kerala. Additionally, the market price for 18 -carat gold is Rs 4,568 per gram.
The price of silver remains unchanged, with one gram of silver selling for Rs 77, and one gram of hallmarked silver available for Rs 103.
The international gold price hike is reportedly attributed to the recent Hamas attack on Israel. Given this situation, it is expected that the price of gold may increase further.
There are indications that the international gold price may reach $2,000 per troy ounce in the coming week.
A troy ounce is a unit of measure used for weighing precious metals that dates back to the Middle Ages. The troy ounce is the equivalent of 31.1034768 grams.
