Thrissur: Dr. B. Anantha Krishnan has been officially appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of Kerala Kalamandalam. Kaladi Vice-Chancellor MV Narayanan was holding the additional charge of Kalamandalam VC for the past one and a half years. The appointment has received the approval of Chancellor Mallika Sarabhai, who endorsed the recommendation put forth by the search committee.
The search committee responsible for this selection comprises Dr. J Prasad, KG Paulose, and TK Vasu, a member of the governing body. Chancellor Mallika Sarabhai appointed the search committee two months ago to facilitate the process of finding a suitable candidate.
Dr. B. Anantha Krishnan brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously served as the curator of INFOC last year and as a professor for 19 years. He has also held the position of head of the theatre department at the Central University of Hyderabad. Dr. Anantha Krishnan’s appointment as Vice-Chancellor is for a term of five years.
