Chennai: The Vande Sadharan Express, following the Vande Bharat Express, is gearing up to serve the people of Kerala on the Ernakulam-Guwahati route. This new train, has recently completed its successful test run at the Chennai Integral Coach Factory, bringing it one step closer to starting service.
In the initial batch, five services have been authorised ,with Kerala being one of the privileged states to benefit from this offering. Moreover, the Vande Sadharan service is poised to roll out on additional routes, including Howrah-New Delhi, Hyderabad-New Delhi, and Mumbai-New Delhi.
The primary goal of the Vande Sadharan Express is to provide cost-effective long-distance travel options to the public. It can carry up to 1,834 passengers across 22 coaches and can travel at a speed of 130 kilometres per hour.
