Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Governor, Arif Mohammed Khan, expressed his deep sadness over the multiple explosions that occurred in Kalamassery, Zamra Convention and Exhibition Center. The Kerala Raj Bhavan released a statement in which Governor , Arif Mohammed Khan, conveyed his shock at the explosion occurred during a religious gathering in convention center, which resulted in one fatality and over 20 people being injured. He offered heartfelt condolences to the deceased’s family and extended his prayers for the swift recovery of the injured.
In response to the incident, an eight-member National Security Guard (NSG) team, including an officer, is coming Kerala to investigate the bomb explosion. They are expected to reach the blast site by this evening. Union Home Minister Amit Shah had a phone call with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to assess the situation in the state.
Kalamassery’s Circle Inspector, Vibin Das, mentioned that the initial explosion occurred around 9 a.m. The incident took place on the final day of a three-day meeting that began on October 27. According to officials, over 2,000 people were attending the prayer meeting when the explosions occurred, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries.
