Thiruvananthapuram: A yellow alert has been declared in nine districts, with two districts placed under an orange alert in Kerala.
Today, Pathanamthitta and Idukki are on orange alert, while districts except Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Kasaragod are under yellow alert. The orange alert extends to Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, and Idukki for tomorrow, and these three districts will remain on orange alert on Monday as well.
The heavy rain is expected to impact coastal and hilly areas of the northern districts of Kerala, with the potential for heavy rainfall in the hilly regions of Central and South Kerala. The India Meteorological Department has issued warnings about thunder and lightning, urging people to exercise caution.
Currently, there is no fishing ban in effect along the Kerala coast, but the authorities have cautioned about the possibility of high waves in the coastal areas.
