Kannur: It has been officially confirmed that the health issues affecting lawyers and staff at the Thalassery Court were a result of the Zika virus. Out of the ten individuals who underwent testing, one tested positive for the Zika virus. Following the release of the test results, the court premises will undergo a thorough disinfection process.
The health problems initially emerged among the employees, including judicial officers, working within the district court complex in Thalassery. Subsequently, judges, lawyers, and court staff began experiencing similar health issues. Moreover, approximately fifty individuals who visited the court also reported symptoms such as fever and body pain.
Due to these alarming developments, three courts within the Thalassery court complex had to be closed for two days. In response to the situation, a medical team from the health department was dispatched to the court premises to conduct tests and investigate the source of the health problem
